Pens, buckets, and sunshine.

It’s been three weeks since I wrote. I was out in Toronto again this time for some professional development. It was great to be in the classroom again. Mom is proud.  

Over the time we’ve continue to receive out Spring orders from the January trade show. Last we received a charming collection of buckets. Yes buckets! This week we received our shipment of pens and pencils from Germany. Stilform. These are beautiful and make such a handsome gift for anyone in your life that loves to use old school writing instruments the old-fashioned wetware attachment that connects directly to your brain.  We have ballpoint, rolling ball, and fountain pens in a variety of colours. Stilform makes a amazing pencil as well, long lasting with replaceable leads…. and so we have erasers for when the wetware glitches out.  

Today is cinnamon bun Friday, as is every Friday. Loraine is baking up a storm, as she does.  

And for those of you who follow us on Social Media platforms you’ll notice our game has improved. Lea is a rockstar. It’s a good place to hear about what is new and is happening at Sunworks.

Now, a note of clarification. There are rumours circulating that Terry and I own the building which houses Taco Loft (our former location) and The Velvet Olive. We do not. We sold the building (although the title does not transferred until May 2026) to local folks about two years ago and we do not have control nor have say on any negotiations or changes. When asked, we offer our advice to the new owners. I’m happy to chat with anyone to dispel misinformation and assumptions.

We look forward to seeing you all this spring. Fantastic changes in the shop. So many new things. We remain happy and cheerful as we transition to warmer weather and sunnier skies.

Spring arrives in 13 days — change is in the air

The weeks and years fly by. It’s hard to believe that it has been six years this month since we moved from Ross Street, and nearly two years since we sold our old property there. And, 12 years since we began renovating the building we are in now.

The building is nearly 100 percent occupied but there remain some opportunities in the Sunworks Studios, and two furnished apartments above just came open for long term tenants. We continue to appreciate and welcome Rich and Grounded as our lovely neighbours. You must drop by to experience their harmonic egg. Tell them we sent you. 

Over the next month, we’re making improvements to the Sunworks Studios in order to formalise the rental and event space opportunities. This will include a day office, apparently called a “hot desk” with meeting space, internet access, and printer. Everything necessary to do a couple of days work away from your regular space. We have opportunities for private meeting rooms and gathering space for meeting and seminars. Please feel free to contact us if you think this might be a fit for you or someone you know.

Friday is here and it’s cinnamon bun day again. Ready at 1 p.m.  Hot, caramelly, and gooey.

We’ve received more products this week. The store continues to improve. We’re pleased to see our Monocle journals from Germany arrive after eight months of toe tapping.

The new Osmology products from California (ordered before the orange-man-bad poop flurry down south began). The Tomato Leaf diffusers and candles are delicious. The smell of tomato vines can come early this year and get you in the mood for planting. Other scents are Before Sleep and Black Oak.

The shelves are fullly stocked for those of you who love Educated Beards from our Canadian friends out east. Men, get your luxurious beard and body wash today. Treat yourself and smell great. Balms, washes, wax, oils, beard butter, combs, brushes, scissors…Four different scents, each are rich and masculine.
